Group Practice

Individual psychotherapy for adults in New York City and New York State, with support for eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship concerns.

Therapy that makes room for the whole of your experience.

Alongside my individual practice in Rockville and the DC metro area, I also lead Pamela Polizzi Psychotherapy, a small boutique group practice serving people in New York City and throughout New York State. We offer individual psychotherapy in a thoughtful, collaborative space where you can better understand yourself, your emotions, your relationships, and the patterns that may be shaping your life.

You may be struggling with an eating disorder, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, or emotions that feel too intense to carry alone. You may also simply know that something in your life is not working in the way it once did.

We are not here only to manage symptoms or offer quick fixes. Together, we will become curious about what you are experiencing, what may be contributing to it, and how your symptoms or behaviors may have helped you cope—even if they are no longer serving you.

What Makes Treatment With Us Different

Therapy is a place to make meaning out of your story. Our work makes room for both your present concerns and the experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns that may have shaped you.

We will not rush past what feels painful, but we also will not get lost in it. Alongside deeper exploration, we can work on practical ways to help you feel more grounded, present, and able to manage the day-to-day parts of your life.

You are more than your symptoms. There is a reason behind every behavior, and no one is “too sick” or “not sick enough” to seek therapy.

Finding the Right Fit

Finding the right therapist matters. A consultation phone call is a chance to share what brings you to therapy, ask questions, and consider which clinician may be the best fit for your needs.

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. You only need a sense that something could be different.

Psychotherapy Serving New York City & New York State

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Pamela Polizzi's individual practice and Pamela Polizzi Psychotherapy (the group practice)?

+

Pamela's individual practice offers psychoanalytic psychotherapy to adults in Maryland, New York, and New Jersey. Pamela Polizzi Psychotherapy is a separate, small group practice she leads, serving New York City and New York State through Meghan Stanley and Olivia Tjernberg.

Do the group practice clinicians see patients outside of New York?

+

Currently, the group practice serves adults located in New York City and throughout New York State only. If you're located outside New York, Pamela's individual practice may be a better fit, depending on your location.

Can I work with Pamela Polizzi directly if I'm located in New York?

+

Yes — Pamela maintains her New York license and sees individual patients there virtually. You're also welcome to connect with Meghan Stanley or Olivia Tjernberg, if either feels like a better fit for you.

How do I know which clinician is the right fit for me?

+

A consultation phone call is the best way to find out — it's a chance to share what brings you to therapy and ask questions, so you and the clinician can consider whether it's a good fit together. You don't need to have this figured out on your own beforehand.

Do session format, fees, or insurance vary between clinicians?

+

Yes — session format, availability, fees, and insurance options may vary by clinician. These details are best confirmed directly during your consultation call.
